PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE - Laine Kohama, President 2015-2016July 29th, 2015Aloha Rotary E-Club members and fellow Rotarians! Aloha Rotary Ohana (Family), This week I did a security tech talk at the Mililani Sunrise club at Lelihua Golf Course. It was great to see Yolette, Linda, Jodie, Dexter, and many more folks. They are a great club that meets at 7:15 am every Wednesday. If you haven’t visited them you should check them out. After doing my talk they donate a book to a school, which I love, and then I get to sign it. Then Linda gave me a gift which was $4.00 off a safety check at Midias. Yay! After that I got to pick a ticket number and Jodie was the winner. After that she picked with Queen of Hearts from a full deck of cards and she won. This is my second club (2 for 2) that someone had won the Queen of Hearts game. It's always great to see someone win. Mahalo Linda and everyone at the Mililani Sunrise Club that made my visit an awesome one : ) On Friday I attended the President’s Dinner and it’s always great to see our East Side Crew friends. We talked about the projects that we are looking at doing and also making sure we got our paperwork in for the grants. I’m working with our Treasury Capsun on getting the forms and other miscellaneous items done. Lastly, we talked about our Centennial Project for the club and possibly teaming up with other clubs in the East Side Crew. President's Meeting from left to right - Roz, Alex, Kate, John, Sandy, and Me Lastly, I’ve been working on the new website structure build (menus, homepage, all the other pages like members, etc), and getting in touch with Russ on the best ways to migrate the web records to another platform. Biz is helping by getting our web meetings announced on our Facebook page and getting our members interviewed every month : ) Ben has been doing a great job getting all those articles up on our webpage. Aloha and Mahalo everyone! Keep up the great work and “Be A Gift to the World!" - Laine Mililani Sunrise Meeting PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE – Laine Kohama, President 2015-2016July 22nd, 2015
Aloha Rotary E-Club members and fellow Rotarians! Aloha Rotary Ohana (Family), This Sunday we had our strategic planning meeting. It was great to have more than half of our club in attendance in person, on FaceTime, or calling in. One or our members Carol just got her new iPhone the day before, and she tried out FaceTime which was great to see her and it was “fun”.
Overall the strategic planning meeting was a success because of you, our “awesome” membership. I’m tremendously grateful for all your support and Aloha. Can’t wait to get those things that we discussed in the visioning session moving.
Had a wonderful time with the Honolulu Sunset Rotary Club and Langley Ukulele Ensemble from Canada. It was such a wonderful performance and everyone had a great time. You got to check out this video of Glenn Miller’s “In the Mood”. Never thought I would hear a ukulele performance of Glenn Miller. It was also wonderful to see Mary Sears (Glenn’s wife), there enjoying the performance. Overall, this was a fun event and it’s an annual one. If I hear about it for next year I’ll let you folks know. This morning I’ll be visiting and speaking at the Mililani Sunrise Club. I’m excited to see them and their current President Linda is so on it. She has about 10 questions from the membership for me already before my talk. Fantastic! Looking forward too it. Lastly, If you want to post up pictures in our meeting of clubs you visited or share something please let me know. We would love to have you in our meeting. : ) Aloha and Mahalo everyone! Keep up the great work and “Be A Gift to the World!” – Laine
