PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE - Laine Kohama, President 2015-2016
Aloha Rotary E-Club members and fellow Rotarians!
Hope you’re having a great day, afternoon, or evening where you are at attending our meeting and thank you for joining us. This week was the Ala Moana Club’s crab fest fundraiser at Kapiolani Community College. Our very own Capsun was there helping out with his wife Linh. They did a great job getting us all taken care of at the event. Also our newest member Samantha was there, and our resident musician Kama was there too with his wife. I’ll report back on this later.
Speaking of Capsun, he visited the Ala Moana club while I was doing a part 2 presentation on Computer Security. This was the first time giving this talk, and I was happy Capsun was there with the wonderful members at the Ala Moana Rotary Club too. That day they met at the Plantation cafe, since there was a big event upstairs.
There was one visitor (Brian) from Australia, and some prospective Rotarian members. It was great to see my President classmate Rich there, as well as Kris (who visited our club with Murray), and Mary Ann. My friend Roger gave me a wonderful introduction and even a great story from the New Yorker about the FBI spilling water on the newly hacked iPhone. It was also good to meet a new friend Tomoko, who is the wife of Capsun's classmate Mike Malaghan.
If you haven’t been to there meeting definitely check them out. Next week will be our board meeting, and we have a special guest visitor, Samantha. We are going to be inducting her to our club at the board/IRL (in real life) meeting on April 20th. Please come on by and visit us. We would love to have you. Today I’ll be attending the District Conference 2016 meeting at the Hawaiian Airlines HQ, and then there is meetings for the District Assemblies in Clint’s year before the board meeting. Speaking of district assemblies, looking forward to seeing you at the April 23rd district assembly on Oahu. Please sign up for our District conference in June too. Have a great week everyone. I’ll leave you with a quote, “Don’t go through life, GROW through life” - Eric Butterworth
Mahalo to Capsun for sharing some of his awesome pics too. I like the one he took of the banner.
