PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE - Laine Kohama, President 2015-2016
Aloha Rotary E-Club members and fellow Rotarians!
The year went by quickly, and it was such an enjoyable year. It was enjoyable because of the old and new friends on the journey, enjoyable because of the good we’ve all done in our communities locally and globally, and enjoyable because of you all. Please join me in wishing you a fond Aloha as President, and wishing you a big Mahalo for all you’ve done to make the E Club of Hawaii such a wonderful and successful club.
This year we’ve growth by leaps and bounds. Here is a brief summary of what we all accomplished together, through your hard work, and dedication:
In Capsun’s year we’ll have many more firsts as a club, and many more achievements. To start off his year, he’ll have two of us in District Leadership with Ray Paler as AG for Kauai, and myself as SAA.
The club success and growth is because of you all. I’m humbled and blessed to have you all in Rotary, and in our Rotary E-Club Ohana. Big Mahalo to our AG Sandy Matsui. Her help contributed to the success of our club. Big Mahalo to our DG Del and Diana, DGE Clint and Jason, DGN Nalani, and DGND Win. Mahalo from the bottom of my heart. You guys are all Rotary Superstars.
Moving forward I’ll be very active and busy in Rotary. Beside being on the leadership team with Ray, I’ll be your treasurer, international services project chair, point person as a Young Professional for the Rotary Connecting for Good Tour starting here in Hawaii on October 29, 2016 (keep that date open as we’ll need all your help), attending the Zone Institute with Ray, traveling to Maui for the District Conference, and off to the Rotary International Convention in Atlanta.
I can’t say this enough, but Mahalo for all your hard work, support, and Aloha! You folks inspire me to do more in Rotary and our communities. Keep up the good work, and I’ll see you all again hopefully sooner than later. I’d like to congratulate and welcome Capsun Poe as our Rotary E Club of Hawaii President. I’m very excited for Capsun, and I know he’s going to be great! I’ll leave with you one of my favorite quotes by JFK, with a Rotary twist, “Ask not what our community can do for you, ask what you can do for your community. Ask not what Rotary can do for you, but what together we can do, for all humankind”.
I apologize in advance for the audio and video quality below.
