Aloha Rotary E-Club Ohana,
Aloha from Vietnam :) For this week's meeting, we have a recap of the Marco Polo service project that several of our members participated in, which was a great success. Our next service project will be the Children & Youth Day on Saturday, October 1 held around the State Capitol building. Lastly, did you know that your Amazon.com purchases can automatically benefit the Rotary Foundation? If you sign up for smile.amazon.com (it's free), Amazon will donate a percentage of your eligible purchase amount to Rotary International through Rotary's Global Rewards program. If you haven't taken advantage of Rotary's Global Rewards program yet, take a few minutes to check out the various discounts and rebates that are available exclusively to Rotary members.

About Children & Youth Day
In 1994, the Hawai‘i State Legislature and Governor established Children and Youth Day (CYD) in Hawai‘i as the first Sunday of every October to celebrate and honor our children and youth and the special contributions they make to our community. After much community discussion, Act 30 of 1997 was passed to dedicate the entire month of October as Children and Youth Month in Hawai‘i.
Children & Youth Day happens on the first Sunday of October, each year. This year is the 24th Annual Event which falls on Sunday, October 1, 2017 from 10:00am-3:00pm. CYD is a time to recognize the potential and special gifts of our keiki (children) and ‘opio (youth). It is a time for them to shine and share their bountiful energy with their community.
