President's Message - Capsun M. Poe, President 2016-2017
Aloha Rotarians and Friends:
As a Charter Member of our Club, I am amazed when I look back at how much we have done and the friendships we have built since we were first chartered in February 2013, under the leadership of Charter President Russ Sumida and two dozen other trailblazers.
Just recently, I've had the opportunity to spend some time with our two newest members, who are my new friends. It really is great to have people in our Club who want to join the rest of us as we implement Rotary Serving Humanity and who want to make a difference in our communities. Earlier this month, Kama Hopkins and I had a chance to share a meal and stories with our new member Sandi Mabry and her husband Ron Mabry (PDG of District 7570). It inspires me to make new connections and start new friendships and to cherish and nurture our existing relationships.
So friends, please click Read More and see what else is going on with our Club, throughout Rotary District 5000, and the rest of Rotary International.

The Rotary Means Business-Oahu networking event was a great success last week, We had over 40 Rotary members and guests from around Oahu visit Valenti Print Group at their corporate office. We had tours of the facility, got to see some of the jobs that are being worked on and meet some of the employee/owners of the company.
Food and refreshments were provided by Valenti Print Group. VPG even gave out personalized Swag Bags, each of those who sent in an RSVP got a personalized notepad with pen and calendars for 2017 and 2018
There was a raffle for various prizes provided by generous sponsors.
Networking is the key part of RMBF-Oahu, We got to meet Rotarians who are Financial Advisors, Insurance Agents, Attorneys, Real Estate Agents and other Business owners. I personally setup 2 appointments from the contacts I met last week.
I encourage you to join Rotary Means Business Fellowship-Oahu Chapter to share your business and get more business contacts and friends on Oahu. It's only $10.00 per year.

Other D5000 Updates
Excerpted from DG Clint Schroeder:
August is Membership & Extension Month! One of the most exciting things that we do in Rotary is to share our organization, our passion and our commitment with like-minded individuals by inviting them to help us change the world. Since July 1, we have welcomed almost 20 new members across the District! Keep up the GREAT work!

The Rotary International Convention is our biggest event of the year! In addition to celebrating all things Rotary, this year we’ll also be commemorating The Rotary Foundation’s centennial with a birthday party, book signing, and film festival.
Other Rotary E-Club of Hawaii Member Updates
From Carol Fetzer:
Wasn’t sure if you’d be interested in this, but this is a professional association I’ve been involved with a few years (Biz is, too), and they have outstanding speakers at a once-a-month luncheon at the Hawaii Prince Hotel. This is one of their most popular annual ones – Killer Bzzz. This has been a great place to make connections and network, and I like it because it’s not geared toward any one industry. So there are managers, business owners, and executives there every month from across the board. Usually between 150 and 200 attend every month.
If you’d like to attend, the info is below.
Have a great day!
